Details of the development of the next part of "The Witcher" have become known, shared with us by CD Projekt RED. All these changes in game development are related to the transition to Unreal Engine and lessons learned from the release of Cyberpunk 2077. While we mentioned Cyberpunk, we also want to add that if you can't complete the Balatro quest in Cyberpunk 2077, we made a guide about it a week ago!
Main reasons for transitioning to Unreal Engine:
- Ability to develop multiple projects simultaneously
- Streamlining collaboration between teams
- Support for technical aspects from Epic Games
- Simplifying work with various platforms
Current question: what has changed after Cyberpunk 2077?
Firstly, the time allocated for pre-production to refine technical solutions has significantly increased. Regular technical checks have also been implemented at every stage of development. Another new approach is testing the game on all possible platforms simultaneously.

What can we expect from "The Witcher 4"?
We are promised that compared to the previous installment, this one will be more extensive and refined, as stated by CDPR. The advertising campaign will last from 6 months but not more than two years. Unfortunately, the release date will not be announced in advance to avoid delays, but we know for sure that the game is planned to be released simultaneously on PC and consoles.
