The best way to get mana is to spend learning points. You will be given points at the start, we have already explained how to start correctly in Gothic 1 Remake. The exchange rate is simple: 1 point gives 1 mana, 5 points give five units. To train your mind, you need to turn to special mentors.
Unlock conditions and list of teachers:
- Chronos stands in the New Camp in a circle with blue glow beyond the field.
- Torrez is a Fire Mage in the Old Camp, he teaches you the craft through the quest “The Price of Magic”.
- Corristo is a Fire Mage in the Old Camp, he trains acolytes from the third chapter onward.
- Saturas is the High Water Mage in the New Camp, available to members of the order from the second chapter.
- Baal Kadar is a guru in the Swamp Camp, he will start teaching you in the first chapter if you cast a “Sleep” scroll on his novice.

Permanent potions are the second way. In the game there are essences and extracts of spirit that permanently add from two to five mana points.
Where to find spirit potions:
- A spirit extract for 4 mana points is given as an optional reward for the quest “Letter to the Fire Mages” in the second chapter.
- A spirit essence for 2 mana points is hidden in a rocky niche on the way to Nek’s corpse outside the Old Camp.
- A spirit extract lies in a locked chest in Y’Berion’s quarters, which you can access in the second chapter.
- A spirit extract is located in the cave of goblins and a troll in the east of the map above the Swamp Camp; to reach this area you need to learn the climbing skill from Teron.

The third option is jewelry. Various accessories give an instant boost of energy while you are wearing them.
Where to get magical accessories:
The ring of mana gives 15 energy points and is sold from the first chapter by Chronos; it can also be found in chests or NPC pockets.
The ring of learning gives 20 mana and 20 health and is located in Beron’s room after his death at the beginning of the third chapter.
The amulet of mana gives 30 energy points; it is recommended to wear this item in the early stages of the game for comfortable use of combat magic.
