Each of us would love to get a free knife in CS2. There aren't many ways to do it — the easiest is to buy one, the hardest is to win it in a giveaway. You can also earn a knife through consistent gameplay.
The first and guaranteed way to get a skin is to play with Prime status. If you don't have it, you can buy it from us with an account or purchase it on Steam. After that, you'll be able to get weekly drops in the form of cases or skins. From our experience — is it actually possible to get a free knife if you log in weekly like it's a job? We received 52 weekly drops and we'll share what we got. It took us over a year.
So, what did we get in 52 weeks? Here's the collection worth 7,000 UAH: Reil, Revolution, Fracture, Kilowatt, Dreams and Nightmares. Other drops: 5 Fracture cases, 11 Recoil, 10 Revolution, 8 Kilowatt and 14 Dreams and Nightmares. Rare drops: Vanguard (225 UAH), Spectrum (281 UAH), Series 2 capsule with crown chance (647 UAH), and Hydra operation case (1299 UAH). Total case value — 4484 UAH. From low-tier drops (graffiti/junk) — 43 items for 35 UAH. Promo codes — 6 for 49 UAH. Blue skins — 57 for 23 UAH + one USB for 16 UAH. Purple quality: two AK-47 "Emerald Pinstripe" (minimal wear) — 139 UAH, and one USP "Royal Guard" — 334 UAH. Total skin value — 596 UAH. All combined — 5108 UAH. After commission — net 4318 UAH.
That's almost enough for Shadow Daggers, which cost around 4840 UAH. So we’re a bit short — another half a year of gameplay. Conclusion: it takes about 1.5 years to get the cheapest knife skin for free in CS2.
