In the fall of 2021, the creators of Left 4 Dead from Turtle Rock Studios announced a new cooperative shooter, Back 4 Blood. Gamers received it with rather mixed reviews, yet the project managed to attract a significant audience. Despite the divided reception, developers unfortunately discontinued content support for the title at the beginning of 2023 and started actively working on their next game. Drawing conclusions from various sources, the new game appears to be a sequel to Back 4 Blood.

This speculation didn't arise without reason. It was substantiated by the discovered resume of Jesse Hutch. Previously, this game was known under the codename "Gobi," during which Hutch worked on motion capture for *Back 4 Blood*. Updates to his resume revealed that he is now actively involved in producing a project with the working title "Gobi 2," which is being developed by Turtle Rock Studios.
Another piece of evidence pointing to the sequel's existence is the registration of a new domain, back4blood2.com, in the Whois database in May 2023. Unfortunately, there is no official timeline for the game's announcement yet. However, a full presentation could take place during the *The Game Awards 2024* ceremony. For now, the studio has refrained from making any comments.
