While pro players compete in the international Masters tournament in Bangkok, you, as a regular player, can enjoy this new feature in the game that removes the unpleasant feeling, like a bitter aftertaste in gameplay. You might ask, what is this feeling? Of course, it’s the loss of your rank and rating, which you worked so hard for.
Just imagine: you spent hours playing, constantly carrying your team. For example, you managed to reach Diamond rank, but suddenly, one lost match takes that rank away from you (and now you have to grind and play all over again!).
In the new patch 10.01, developers have added rank loss protection. Here’s how it works: when you reach any rank (except Radiant), this protection activates and helps you retain your rank after a loss, but only twice. On the third attempt, your rank will drop three levels.
The feature works only at the initial stages of a rank, whether you’ve just climbed to it or dropped down.
