Fortnite mistakenly banned a player and later sincerely rewarded them as compensation
Fortnite strictly enforces rules against cheating and violations. Epic Games, the game developer, closely monitors compliance, issuing bans to anyone who deliberately exploits bugs, cheats, or loopholes. However, as with any system, errors can occur. This led to a player being banned for almost a month, without any reason.

If players break the rules, such as teaming up, they can face a ban of at least 28 days. That was the length of the ban Epic Games imposed on the player before quickly acknowledging and correcting their mistake. Similarly, they fixed a newly released skin.
In the sent letter, it was stated: "We mistakenly took action against your account. We have reversed this action and credited 2,000 V-bucks to your Fortnite account as compensation for the error. We also apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."
The player joked about the situation, saying that for 2,000 V-bucks, they would gladly accept a ban anytime. Other players joined in, jokingly suggesting that Epic unexpectedly sent the player on a paid vacation. They also humorously began asking for bans for themselves to top up their wallets. For context, 2,000 V-bucks equates to roughly 1,000 UAH, one skin, or two battle passes. How to get a free skin in 2025 was also covered previously.
This is not the first time Epic Games has compensated for its mistakes. Previously, the company issued refunds to everyone who purchased the "rarest skin" in the store, as it was released by mistake and subsequently recalled.
